DISTANCE HARNESS

I just used the new harnesses that I ordered. I have two dogs that crab really bad and I didn't know if there was anything that would help them. I ran a 8 mile run and the two of them never once crabbed to the side. I'm NOT KIDDING, the two dogs never moved from next to the gang line. I WILL be placing another order soon. You have a winner.

We received two of your harnesses last week. Wow! What a difference. In fact we feel this may be what keeps a few of our dogs in the team. We need to order ten more...

Thanks again for supporting John Schandelmeier's 2003 Denali Dash 120! It was really fun, a good race; a good potential class series. The harnesses proved themselves on hills [albeit with a good trail] by finishing 2nd, 5th, 7th and 8th of the top ten (I finished 16th). On to Copper Basin, Deb's on the Knik.

I have had 4 of my 9 dogs wearing the Man Mat Long Distance Guard harnesses this season. So far I really like them. We do not race but just excursion sled with the Mals and Samoyeds and the harnesses are working fine for the 4 dogs that have worn them. (2 Mals and 2 Samoyeds). I have not noticed a problem with any tangles or dogs not figuring out how to untangle themselves--actually they seem to be able to step back across the gangline if they step over, easier. I like having my leaders wear them and they seem comfortable in the harnesses. It was much easier putting and taking harnesses off this winter too. And since I have had my right hand in a cast for most of the winter it was easy for me to help harness.

Just thought I would let you know the harnesses arrived safely today. I am SO pleased with them - absolutely wonderful quality - and the fit seems excellent!

We received our harnesses yesterday. We are very impressed with the quality and workmanship, (they don't make them like that in New Zealand). We are looking forward to showing off our new harnesses at the first race! We have also noticed in the couple of training runs we have had using the long distance harness, that our bitch Nishka has shown a big improvement - she has been struggling with a lower back problem for a while, so this harness seems excellent for her.

I tried the distance harness on my main racing leader, Storm. I began running her with it in the fall during 4-wheeler training, and was impressed by the way it freed up her lower back and hips. She adjusted quickly to the new feel. Her back seemed far more stable and less fragile, and she had only a few very minor injuries all season that seemed more like front-end or shoulder than back. The end result was that Storm led me to a series of top-three finishes in the 6-dog preliminaries, and she ran beautifully in two championship races in the spring. This was a dog I'd thought would never race in a multi-day championship again, because her back would always go out after the first day.

I received the harness. It is very good quality and I am happy with
the purchase. My dog Scoop really took to it and we have been doing happy bikejoring.

I had a couple of Distnace harnesses from you last year for evaluation, I am delighted with the harness and the improvements I see in my dog team. The main observations are:

I've ordered a few of your ManMat long distance harness and I love them! Love all your products, love your site!

I own two Guard Harnesses and I love them! They are perfect and far more functional, at least for my recreational use with imperfectly trained dogs, than with the H-back harnesses. Love your website love your products!

This product is well made and my team has had little trouble with the transition from traditional harnesses. Several dogs that have crabbed in the past are now running straight. The harness is very secure and the dog is unable to back out or tangle. I highly recommend you try this product out.

Just wanted to let you know our experience with these harnesses has been very positive. We modified the gangline section length for each pair of dogs to about 5'-6" and placed two 15" long tugs about 30" from the back end of the gangline sections. The dogs took to this new arrangement like they had been doing all of their lives. The dogs seem a lot fresher after each run now than compared with the old harness/gangline arrangement. Still experimenting with fit and lengths and stuff like that but I am very encouraged by the results we seem to be seeing in our dogs.

Hello, thank you so much for the wonderful harness and bungee line. It is so well made and my dog fits in it perfectly. We already went rollerblading with it and it works great.

The large harness fits great! Love it! It works really well with the springer jogger on my bike. I really like the harness we purchased because it frees up my dog's shoulders and throat.

Thank you for exchanging the XL for a L long distance harness. It fits my Lab much better. I use it to pull a scooter and she pulls harder and enjoys herself much more in this than in an x-back harness (she would quit pulling completely in the x-back after 10 minutes). I also use it for a tracking harness on the same dog. She is being trained to search out foul water under houses and in underground utility vaults to assist the mosquito control technicians where I work. The red M's on the harness have an additional meaning for us here. Thanks for a great product.

I just wanted to let you know that I received the harness and everything looked great. Thanks for your efficiency and speed in both replying to my email and in sending the harness! The harness is very well made, and I really like the sturdy construction of the neck part, with the broad band and padding, plus the very useful reflective tape. I can tell it is very comfortable on my dog, both while he is pulling and while sitting upright (with his chest out as usual)! The best part of all is that the harness is very comfortable, thanks to the proportionate lengths of all the straps (especially for Sipmek, the good length from the neck to his belly). It's a good think you recommended the XL size instead of the XXL like I originally ordered! I have already gotten many compliments on how nice the harness looks on him! (Of course Sipmek gets a lot of attention from passers-by on a daily basis!) Because of the nice shape to the neck yoke portion, the harness is working perfectly. I think it sits in the perfect position to distribute the weight just between his shoulder bone and his neck when pulling. (I think this is perfect and wouldn't want to take a chance on the next size smaller) I took the "leftover" end of the belly strap and threaded it back through the top loop of the harness. I purchased a guard/distance harness for my own dog a year and a half ago, which I use for both skijoring and running. Before purchasing this harness, I tried a variety of x-back harnesses, none of which fit him quite right. This harness not only fits him, but once he started wearing it, he began pulling uphill for the first time! I am now purchasing one for my friend's dog, who loves to pull her when she runs, but the harness she has is hindering her dog's breathing. I look forward to giving this to her. Hello from North Carolina, Just wanted to comment on our labs harness we bought from you all a while back. That is one of the best harnesses out there for walking, hiking, and running our dog . We love it.

Thanks so much, I have just received the two Distance Harnesses I ordered. Fantastic quality and excellent speedy service. Having worn a harness for hours/days whilst rock and alpine climbing, I know how important quality and comfort is. The dogs are "happy as Larry", trotting around all proud. About the dogs... Fantastic little mongrel hounds found abandoned by the side of the road in Greece about 5 months old. Now 2 and a half years old still a bit wild, and love the hunt hence the diversion to pulling/running. They come out with me mountain biking and run more than happily with me for a good 90 to 100 minutes at the moment before getting hot and bothered. What prompted me to get the harnesses was the dogs pulling my brothers kids on their carts, and that they would pull me on my long-board/skateboard. Having regular collars on, I stopped this happening, as I thought it would end up hurting the dogs. Thanks again for your fantastic product !

I just wanted to write a quick note to tell you that I received the Distance Harness and Chest Protector today. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with everything. To start with, shipment was incredibly quick... I ordered last Wednesday and they arrived today. When I tried the harness and chest protector on my dog, they fit perfectly. It was comfortable enough for him that he didn't seem to mind one bit that he was wearing a harness (he walked funny with the other harnesses). There is absolutely no armpit rub whatsoever...the strap down the chest is perfect. I'm not kidding, it felt like this harness was custom made for my dog. I pulled it out of the box, snapped it on him, no adjustment necessary--crazy. Anyway, thank you so much for your quick response to my inquiring email last week, and just for the incredible help this has been!! I've been searching for a good harness for some time and I'm so excited that I finally found the place!!

We got our harness yesterday, and used it today on part of the Tahoe Rim Trail. Last week, Sierra only had her collar on, and got tired fast, lots of trying to run down the hill and getting pulled back by the neck, and making her cough, unfortunately. This week, we did another portion of the TRT, but with the distance harness on instead. Sierra did not want to stop after a good 4 1/2 hours of lots of hills. Your harness made the hike enjoyable for all of us, thanks.

I recieved your harness today and I am very pleased. It is some of the best money I have spent on dog equipment in some time. I train my own working guard dogs and that is what I will mainly use the harness for. For dogs my size (85 to 140 lb) there are only junk harnesses available or bulky leather harnesses that IMO are too heavy and bulky for what I do.

I was extremely impressed with the ease with which the Brittanys and an extremely small English Setter could road with the Distance Harnesses I already have. There did not seem to be chocking, coughing, or anything else going on. Just work.

We run almost all the dogs in our team with those harness. PERFECT!!! The harnesses will stay straight on the dog even on the ones that "crab". The Small fits a 45 pound dog and the Medium to a 50pound dog. We like them a lot, the ring is no concern at all for "rubbing".

A couple of years ago I purchased a dog, who never really ran good for me. She always seemed like she was injured, her gate was awful. We were giving up our hopes. I put your Wheel Dog Harness on her and she ran beautifully! What an amazing harness!!!

I have a dog who's gate was always off. He was hitting his front legs with his rear legs while running, causing the front legs to bleed. Since I started running him in the Wheel Dog Harness, this problem disappeared! I am very impressed with this harness.

I have been running sled dogs since 1968 and I am still curious about new equipment. I purchased some Wheel Dog harnesses and used them on the leaders, team dogs, and wheelers. I WAS IMPRESSED. The dogs ran straighter, maintained their lope easier, and took longer to tire. I am planning to use these harnesses exclusively this season.

Just wanted to let you know that today we received the wheel dog harness in Large. We were amazed to see just how well it fits the dog for which it is intended!

I just have one WD harness and I really like it. There is a lot of padding on the under side and it seems like a good compromise between the load distribution of an X - back harness and the rear freedom of a Guard Harness.

We were surprised/pleased at the high quality -- thank you so much for such a fine product, we are so proud to have them. They were used this afternoon and we noticed a difference already compared to the standard X-back and/or freight harness we began with.

I was really impressed with the Wheel Dog harness. I liked it for the wheel dogs, but I especially liked it for Chip. He has arthritis in one of his hocks and when he uses the wheel dog harness he doesn't start limping after a run. With a regular harness you can see him really favoring his leg for several hours after running.

I really like the Wheel Dog Harness. I like to use those harnesses especially for my four dog team. I feel this design gives a dog more pulling power over a regular harness.

The harness has been so amazing and our Sib. husky Titan loves it. We are are not sled people, but Titan loves pulling my nephew around the park on his sled. Your harness has made a world of difference in Titans hips after a fun full day of pulling in the snow.

Last fall I had just about decided my swing dog Star's racing career was finished because of a "sore" back problem that had plagued him for the past two years. Star has always worn a traditional sprint X-back harness but you suggested trying him in your wheel dog harness. Let me tell you, at 6 years of age, Star is back to his youthful self! He trained and raced in the wheel dog harness all season, including all three days of ONAC with no injuries. I have used it with other dogs, particularly crabbers and seen real improvement. I just received the harnesses today. My first impression is holy **** are these ever great. They are excellent!

Quick update on the harnesses. They (the dogs) seem to be going really well in them and have won 3 out of 3 races so far this season! The porous padding seems to keep the dogs cooler in our warmer conditions. They wash up really well too and come out like new, which is great for our muddy trails!

The harnesses look great! I honestly believe this is some of the best workmanship I have seen in sewing harness. I also like the material, will be interesting trying them this year. I have tried out the skijoring belt and must tell you that it
works great! After a little adjustment, I hardly felt it pull. Looks like

Hello, I just received the Skijoring package yesterday and I must say that the harness and equipment is top notch! I have seen some other harnesses that were just the plain nylon straps but this harness is much better than those! It looks like the padding makes it very comfortable on my dog and it fits great! I have not tried skating with him yet but I have a feeling he is going to have a blast pulling me!

I love the harness, lead and trekking belt! It is the best way to get my hound out and keep her from "hunting" while we walk. It's great!

We have been using the "bungee leash" for four years now and we love it! It is perfect to take teams to the starting line. The bungee compensates for the difference in the speed between your leaders and you running along - very nice item for the person handling the leaders! It is also perfect for walking dogs, no more strong tension, the bungee helps a lot. Your hand and arm will be "very happy"! The best leash we have ever owned and we recommend it to everybody!

We received the collars today and we are very surprised at the super quality of them. I was impressed with the hardware, seemed like extra heavy duty including adjustment slide. The material also appears to be very heavy duty. Quality construction also. I am very satisfied.

We use those when we camp, our short hair dogs love it, they are waterproof, the snow doesn't stick to the inside or outside of the coat. Some of the hound crosses wear them in the kennel at their dog houses and seems to really like them. The coats don't restrain any movement. I like the buckle added to the regular Velcro closure, this makes better for the coat to stay in place. GREAT PRODUCT!

Everyone who sees the coat is so impressed. Just as I was thrilled after a rather extensive search for a better coat than the poorly designed ones in ALL pet stores. I bet they'll be impressed w/ the coat - in NYC coats are very popular. At first I thought it was silly - it rarely goes below 25 here. However, city snow and slush is dirty and loaded with salt and sand and the coats help the dogs stay clean. Your coat is the only one we've seen, for large dogs (versus purse sized dogs) that protects the bottom of the dog. At any rate, your website is an easy one to remember - I hope those who have asked about the coat one day order from you. Their dogs will appreciate it!

We have used the jackets we received two weeks ago and have found them to be better than any we have ever used. Our female dogs that do not have fur on their bellies sure like them. When we stop the team we take off the back part immediately and they are free to urinate etc. They are worth every cent we paid for them!

This product is well made and is very effective in preventing rubs and sores. It fits the Man Mat distance harnesses perfectly.

I've been getting lots of e-mails this year asking what to do about feet. I tell every one of them that they need to get their dogs on Zinc & where to get it. I think next year a lot of people will be putting their dogs on it early. Seriously we have been training on gravel roads since the beginning of September & for this time of year the dogs feet are holding up well. Every once in awhile we need to bootie someone for a couple of runs, but then they're all healed up again. I even have dogs with toenails. Amazing. Thanks for distributing such a great product at a good price.

Thanks for the information on the Zinc Gluconate. It is very interesting as I have tried the Zinc Sulphate capsules and the Zinpro. I had terrible problems with the sulphate as it caused vomiting and loss of appetite. The Zinpro was palatable with no side effects but I had to use large amounts of it…..and it didn’t work either!

Tala’s skin is just starting to improve in the last few days. I had increased the dosage to just under 1/2 flat teaspoon in the last couple of weeks as there was no improvement. If she continues to improve I will drop down the dosage to around the ¼ level again and see how it goes. I have noticed her urine has started to burn the grass which has never happened before and I think this may be due to the high level of zinc passing through! Anyway….it’s good news and great to see an improvement!!

I had Nestle into the veterinarian this week and the first thing he did was look at her feet. I was curious at his look of surprise, but he told me she has the best feet of any dog he has seen in the last three months. Because of all the rain he is getting a lot of dogs with fungus or yeast infection.

Zinc - My vet says to keep doing what I have done! The zinc REALLY helped Jasmine - her pads are excellent! She needs almost 1/8 tsp. daily - if I cut back her pads get rough. Keep on the regime and she has good pads. Gracie's front pads are FINE now and has one back pad COMPLETELY o.k. The other back pad is getting there. Took 10 months of Zinc but it's great!

After using various zinc supplements over the years, we've been feeding the 'double dose' of Zinc Gluconate since mid summer. It's been both the most effective AND the cheapest zinc product we've tried yet... our purebred GSPs are trucking barefoot over frozen gravel, chopped ice, etc. and their feet are looking better than ever for mere pennies a week.

I had to tell you how well the Nutrazinc is working on our Siberian. For the first time in 3 years she has no crusty sore on her body! Also her coat feels so much better. Her coat had a dry brittle feel prior to using this product. Our Vet was very pleased also. This girl is 8 years old and looks 2. Thanks again for a great product.

I want to say thank you for your Nutrazinc product. I bought it a couple of months ago to use on my male husky who started to have skin problems. It seems that between the zinc and the medicine that vet gave us to treat a really bad demodex, zinc, and staph infection we won the battle. I have been advised to keep him on the zinc once he finishes his other treatment. I have also started to give it to my female to help her coat out as well. The base vet was impressed by your product, that she has started to suggest it to other dog owners. So thanks again for that.

I still very much believe the Nutrazinc makes a huge difference in my Siberians' pads.

I just wanted to write to let tell you that back in 2003 my Siberian 'Chuka' was diagnosed at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Veterinary School, with "Zinc Responsive Dermatosis". The hair around her eyes and on her face was falling out and the itching was causing her great discomfort. They prescribed Zinc Gluconate as a fix, but it was nowhere to be found in the required dosage.

After hearing about how important L- Carnitine is in the horse racing world, I decided to give Staminex a try. To prove to myself that it actually makes a difference, I have only been giving it to my two hardest working, first to get tired limited class sprint dogs - a three year old pointer cross and a seven year old Alaskan husky leader - using the other race dogs as a performance gauge. These dogs are now finishing training runs in as good or better shape than the rest of the dogs on the team, and I'm even running longer miles than I did at this time last year. In fact, the seven year old is performing better than she ever has her whole life! Now I'm a believer and will start supplementing the rest of the team.

I am pretty impressed with this product. Next year I'm going to print the information about it so I can just hand it out. The dogs seemed to thrive on it. Maybe that's what was wrong with the dogs at the race in Tok. I'd run out!

I was very impressed with the dogs performance while on Astaxanthin last year. It seemed they stayed healthier and if they get sick, they recovered quicker.
